Vegan Wedding Food at Ashfield House

Getting wedding food right and being able to accommodate all guests and their needs is an art form.

When we first started focusing on weddings at Ashfield House, back in 2009, there really wasn’t a big focus on dietary requirements. A gluten free dish was a rarity, someone may occasionally be lactose intolerant and a vegan guest probably happened once a year.

Fast forward to 2018 and every single wedding has some sort of dietary requirements that we must honour as a venue. We have a specific policy to make sure that allergies and dietary needs are organised and catered for.

We don’t believe in ticking boxes and just creating the bog standard stuffed pepper vegan dish for our guests. We’ve worked hard and with our vegan guests to develop our menu to include vegan dishes where the flavour, textures and style has all been carefully thought out in advance.

Luckily, as we make our dishes from scratch and our chefs are super creative we are able to accommodate all our guest needs. Bernard, our head chef, has really enjoyed creating our vegan dishes. He’s done his research, sought advice from vegan chefs around the UK and used modern cookery techniques and new ingredient combos to create our vegan menu.
